Attorney John C. Chowning has been working workers' compensation cases since 1985. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 1982 and his Juris Doctor (law degree) from Wayne State University in 1985. He started representing insurance companies for the first three years of his practice, and has represented injured workers since 1988. His insurance company experience enables him to understand their motives and how they work. His background in insurance and workmans' comp has helped him obtain millions in benefits for his clients. He has tried hundred of cases and is not averse to taking on cases where the settlement just wasn't adequate.
Mr. Chowning has a special capacity to listen and understand the needs of his clients, handling each case personally as if it was his own. His knowledge of medical issues and decades of experience dealing with difficult injuries has made him very efficient in getting his clients the aid they need in Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability cases. He also handles his clients' legal needs including the drafting of wills and Power of Attorney documents.
As a friend of labor, Mr. Chowning has weekly office hours at four UAW locals. He has given lectures for various groups on the rights of injured workers. Many attorneys throughout the state of Michigan refer their Workers' Compensation cases to him because of his expertise.
Mr. Chowning has been married for 27 years and he has been living in Linden for the past 26 years. He has two children. In the summer, you may find him on Lobdell Lake, and in the winter at local hockey arenas where his son plays hockey.
Darrin J. Andrus represents injured and disabled individuals in matters involving Social Security disability, workers' compensation and personal injury claims. Mr. Andrus has devoted his professional career to assisting individuals with disabilities improve their quality of life through the receipt of disability benefits. He is a hands-on individual who works in his community and is a devoted family man.
Mr. Andrus received his law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He was formerly an attorney at Davidson, Breen & Doud, P.C.
